Moises Cuevas

Moises Magpantay Cuevas (born November 25, 1973 in Batangas City , Philippines ) is a Filipino Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop in Zamboanga .

Life

Moises Cuevas studied philosophy at the Pastor Bonus seminar in Zamboanga City and theology at the regional seminar in Davao City . On December 6, 2000, he received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Zamboanga .

After his ordination he was first chaplain at the Cathedral of Zamboanga and from 2003 to 2009 rector of the sanctuary Nostra Signora del Pilar . During this time he was also Chancellor of the Archdiocese and from 2005 to 2007 Administrator of the Pastoral Care Center. After another pastorate, he became cathedral priest at the cathedral in 2015. Since 2017 he has also headed the episcopal commission for the formation of priests.

Pope Francis appointed him auxiliary bishop in Zamboanga and titular bishop of Maraguia on March 19, 2020 . The Archbishop of Zamboanga, Romulo Tolentino de la Cruz , ordained him episcopal on August 24th of the same year in the Cathedral of Zamboanga . Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Ozamis , Martin Jumoad , and the Bishop of Ipil , Julius Sullan Tonel .
