Mona Freeman

Mona Freeman (born June 9, 1926 in Baltimore , Maryland - † May 23, 2014 in Beverly Hills , California ) was an American actress .

life and career

Freeman was a model in her school days and has also been named "Miss Subway" on the New York City rail network . During this freestyle she came into contact with entrepreneur Howard Hughes and was later sold to Paramount Pictures . Her career began in 1944. In her younger years, the pretty Freeman became a teenage star, mostly personifying young naive people. Later her success waned and she mostly only appeared in B-films , with the film Angel Face with Robert Mitchum being a notable exception. She also starred in the comedy Horrors of the Division with Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis . In the 1950s, the focus of her activities shifted noticeably from film to television series. Up to and including 1972 she was seen in more than 60 productions.

She later turned away from acting and devoted herself to painting, particularly portraits.

Mona Freeman was married twice and had at least one daughter. When she died in 2014 at the age of just under 88, she was survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
