Moneybagg Yo (born September 22, 1991 in Memphis ; real name Demario White ) is an American southern rapper . With a series of mix tapes and albums, he became a fixture in US rap from 2016.

biography

In April 2012, Moneybagg Yo released his first mixtape From da Block 2 da Booth , which was followed by regular mixtapes. In 2015 he received his first recognition and received the Hip Hop Award for Mixtape of the Year for Federal in his hometown of Memphis . After that, the prominent guests on the tapes increased and with Yo Gotti he made it into the charts for the first time in November 2016 with his tenth mixtape 2 Federal . Federal 3X made it to number 5 on the Billboard 200 a year later and finally gave it its breakthrough.

He placed three more mixtapes in the top chart regions before his debut album Reset was released at the end of 2018 . With number 18 in the charts, it confirmed previous successes. After that, he remained productive and only six months later released the album 43va Heartless , which entered the top 5, and less than a year later Time Served was released , which reached the best position to date with number 3. This third album was also a further step forward in that three songs from it also made it into the single charts for the first time . Of this All Dat (with Megan Thee Stallion ) and U Played (with Lil Baby with) Gold Award.
