Monika Becker (born May 17, 1955 in Fulda ) is a German politician ( FDP ).

Life and education

Monika Becker was born in Fulda in 1955 . She is an administrative and business economist ( VWA ). After Becker held various positions in the Mainz city ​​administration and in the Rhineland-Palatinate Ministry of Economics, she was Vice President of the North Structure and Approval Directorate from 2006 to 2011 .

Monika Becker joined the FDP in 1977 . She is active in local politics and was from 1994 to 1999 the 2nd alderman of the Nassau community . Becker has been a member of the district council in the Rhein-Lahn district since 2001 and acts as spokeswoman for the FDP.

When the Liberals left the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament in 2011 , the party set up a parliamentary working group. Monika Becker worked as deputy chairwoman in this body.

In the state elections in 2016 , she was elected to the Rhineland-Palatinate state parliament. She is the deputy chairwoman of the FDP state parliamentary group and is a member of the Committee for Internal Affairs, Sport and State Planning, the Petitions Committee and the Prison Commission.
