Monika Csampai

Monika Csampai (born March 7, 1963 in Munich ) is a German musicologist , singer and cultural manager .

Life

Monika Verena Csampai was born in a Schwabing artist family as the daughter of Helga and Ernst Kößlinger . Csampai studied musicology and Italian at the University of Vienna , graduating with honors in 1987. She wrote her thesis on the composer Gaspare Spontini and his work in the city of Munich . She also studied singing at the Franz Schubert Conservatory , the Conservatory of the City of Vienna , the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna and the University of Music Detmold, as well as singing operettas and musicals as well as cultural management. Until 1988 Monika Csampai worked as a research assistant at the Répertoire International des Sources Musicales (RISM) and as a singer at the Vienna Burgtheater . After that she was head of the PR department and product assistant at Fono Schallplatten GmbH Münster for two years , then label manager of Virgin Classics at Virgin Schallplatten GmbH Munich and marketing manager of EMI Classics at EMI Electrola GmbH .

In 1994 Monika Csampai went freelance and founded the PR agency Quintessenz Artists . To this day she is also the managing owner of the Munich agency. Quintessenz Artists deals with artists and subjects of classical music . The PR agency is committed to selected young artists who are on the verge of breakthrough to great international careers. She does PR work for established artists and ensembles . Quintessenz Artists has so far managed over 1700 individual projects and 4500 record titles within permanent label representatives .

She is married to the musicologist, author and critic Attila Csampai and lives in Munich.
