Monique Fessl (born May 2, 1974 in Sankt Lorenzen im Mürz Valley ) is an Austrian music producer , composer , techno DJ, singer and media artist .

life and work

Monique Fessl received flute lessons from the age of four, followed by music lessons for Styrian accordion, accordion, piano, guitar, drums, harmonium and singing.

Work on his own compositions began in the mid-1990s. The first release with the band "Back to Godhead", a classical guitar band formation, landed first at the FM4 Skype Music Award in Austria and second in Europe. This was followed by further publications in various formations such as Shuka or Nimai (with the German musician and producer Gregor Hennig ) between pop and electronic music . In 2003, Nimai was nominated for the Amadeus Award .

Monique Fessl has been working solo since 2006. Stylistically, she moved between electronic music and techno , mostly combined with her melodious singing. This was followed by releases on renowned labels such as Tongut (Switzerland) or the Graz label Zeiger, with the FM4 hit “Schnee mit Matsch” , released in 2008 .

Monique Fessl completed her studies in astrophysics at the Karl Franzens University in Graz as well as the course in media and interaction design at the FH Joanneum . She is a member of female: pressure , an international database for female DJs, music producers and artists, founded by Electric Indigo .
