Monique Sullivan (born February 21, 1989 in Calgary ) is a former Canadian track cyclist who specialized in short-term disciplines.
In 2007 Monique Sullivan became two-time Canadian junior champion in the sprint and 500-meter time trial . At the UCI World Junior Championships in Aguascalientes in the same year , she won the bronze medal in the Keirin . In 2008 she became two-time Canadian champion in the elite class in the keirin and time trial.
In 2010 Sullivan finished ninth in the Keirin and 14th in the time trial at the World Track Championships in Ballerup near Copenhagen . At the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in the same year , she was third in the team sprint together with Tara Whitten . In 2011 she was again Canadian double champion, in keirin and sprint. In 2012 she won two gold medals at the Pan American Championships, also in Keirin and Sprint. At the 2015 Pan-American Games in Toronto , she was the first Canadian to take first place three times, in the sprint, keirin and team sprint (with Kate O'Brien ).
In 2016 Monique Sullivan was nominated for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . She finished 17th in the sprint and 25th in the Keirin. Together with Kate O'Brien, she was eighth in the team sprint. Then she ended her cycling career.
Sullivan began engineering studies at the University of Calgary and established the Monique Sullivan Development Fund Award to support young cyclists. In November 2018 she received the CBE Legacy Award (CBE = Calgary Board of Education) for her academic achievements and her civic commitment .
