Mons Kallentoft
Mons Erik Ingemar Kallentoft (born April 15, 1968 in Linköping ) is a Swedish writer and journalist .
Life
Kallentoft grew up very poorly read and enthusiastic about sports in a working class family in the village of Ljungsbro in Linköping municipality . At the age of fourteen he was bedridden due to a sports injury, read books by George Orwell and Ernest Hemingway, and became interested in literature. After working in the advertising industry and journalistic activities, his writing career began. He moved to Madrid for a few years and made his debut in 2000 with the thriller Pesetas , which won the catapult prize in 2001 . The following novels, Marbella Club and Fräsch, frisk och spontan, also received positive reviews. The travel reports and essays on food culture such as food noir received a lot of attention . Kallentoft's greatest success to date began with the writing of detective novels . The first book and bestseller of the later Malin Fors series Mittwinterblut was sold more than 300,000 times in Sweden alone, translated into 25 languages and appeared in 29 countries.
Kallentoft lives in Stockholm , is married and has two children.
