Moon Hyung-jin (born September 26, 1979 in Tarrytown , New York ) is the seventh and youngest son of Moon Sun-myung and Han Hak-ja . He was President of the Unification Church , but has since founded his own religious movement, the World Peace Sanctuary (also known as the Sanctuary Church of Newfoundland, PA or, more recently, Rod of Iron Ministries ).

Moon studied philosophy and religious studies at Harvard University and the Harvard Divinity School. Among other things, he dealt with Tibetan Buddhism .

From April 2008 to March 2015, Moon was the international president of the Family Federation for World Peace .

Moon is considered an important person in mediating between North and South Korea . In December 2011, he traveled to North Korea twice: to visit his parents' hometowns and places relevant to the Unification Church, as well as to attend the funeral service for Kim Jong-il , which he attended on his father's behalf. In September 2012, Moon was invited to Pyongyang to accept condolences on behalf of his late father. As part of this, Kim Jong-us awarded Uncle Chang Sung-taek Moon Hyung-jin and his father the "National Reunification Prize".

Moon lives in Pennsylvania , USA. He is married to Lee Yeon-an and has 5 children.
