Moorende ( Low German Moorenn ) is a district of the community Lilienthal in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony .

geography

The place is four kilometers southeast of Worpswede , eight kilometers northeast of Lilienthal and nine kilometers southeast of Osterholz-Scharmbeck .

history

Moorende was founded in 1778 as part of the moor colonization . In 1789 it is stated that the number of fire pits was 22, divided into nine houses, two huts, seven vacant and four vacant. The place had 62 inhabitants at the time, including 42 children.
