Westerwede is a district of the community Lilienthal in the district of Osterholz in Lower Saxony .
geography
The place is two kilometers south of Worpswede , seven kilometers north of Lilienthal and eight kilometers southeast of Osterholz-Scharmbeck . The Semkenfahrt borders to the northwest .
history
Westerwede was founded in 1764 as part of the moor colonization . In 1789, it is stated that the number of households was 16, divided into 15 houses and a hut. The place had 89 inhabitants at the time, including 53 children.
