Murderous Hunt

Mord in Aschberg is a German television film - crime thriller by Markus Imboden from 2014 . It is the fourth film about the private detective Finn Zehender with Hinnerk Schönemann in the title role.

action

Ex-police officer and current private investigator Finn Zehender gets caught in a swamp of ominous activities by the Albrecht family on his latest assignment. While he is supposed to shadow the husband of his client, the Albrechts want to have an annoying blackmailer killed by the hit man Thomas Trappe and secure an alibi through Zehender's surveillance. The plan works, but the private investigator is caught in the middle of an exchange of fire. He tries to face the shooter alone. He almost succeeds, but the assassin manages to escape in his green van.

The police take over the official investigation, but Zehender cannot stand by and is involved in the investigation on his own. He gains access to the hotel room from which the shooter shot his victim. He discovers a jewelry store opposite the hotel and has the surveillance recordings from there. As expected, he can then spot the green delivery van, but only partially decipher the license number.

Based on the noticeably luxurious lifestyle that the man shot dead maintained during his lifetime, Zehender concludes that he has been blackmailed and thus finds the trail to the Albrechts. When they notice this, they put Thomas Trappe on him too. Thanks to the courageous intervention of the former village police officer Gerd Mühlfellner, the sniper was put to flight. The meanwhile demands his "wages" from Simone Albrecht, which he not only wants to have financially balanced, but also in sexual consideration. Therefore Simone Albrecht decides to get him out of the way too. However, Finn Zehender can prevent this and appears in good time with the public prosecutor Agnes Sonntag, so that Albrechts and Thomas Trappe are arrested.

Reviews

Rainer Tittelbach from tittelbach.tv said: “On the one hand, 'Mord in Aschberg' is told straight ahead along its main character, on the other hand, author Holger Karsten Schmidt and director Markus Imboden treat the crime story to little absurd interludes. Weird dialogues, ironically stretched situations, a genre lacony that is rare on German television and a relaxed narrative flow - that is what characterizes the humorous ZDF crime thriller from the northern German province. "

Michael Hanfeld wrote appreciatively at the FAZ: “The rib, the meat, the grill, the private detective, the older ex-police officer - in the first scene in the film“ Mord in Aschberg ”you feel at home in the world of Director Markus Imboden and the author Holger Karsten Schmidt. You attribute weird stories to this cast (which includes a few others) that don't fit into any grid. Comedy, satire, thriller, crime, drama, grotesque - here everything is one, full of allusions, quotes and punchy dialogues plus a cool soundtrack. ”He also wrote:“ With this Finn Zehender […] you don't even know whether he is is underestimated and knows how to use it or is really up for it. "

Ulrich Feld said for the Frankfurter Neue Presse : "It is remarkable how skilfully screenwriter Holger Karsten Schmidt and director Markus Imboden have combined these well-known motifs with a lot of wit and dry comedy into a neatly constructed criminal case that sometimes strikes harder notes." Conclusion: “Sex, murder, extortion and fire: The deep black provincial thriller was so evil and macabre. "

The TV Spielfilm editorial team gave the crime thriller a “thumbs up” and said with praise: “Had the Coen brothers been active in the north German lowlands, something like that would have come out of it.” Murder in Aschberg was a “delicious village thriller with laconic Joke."
