Murderous Wasp's Nest is a German television film - crime thriller from 2011 .

action

When Gerhard Mühlfellner, the long-time police chief of the small north German town of Aschberg, and his new colleague, the young Anna Wippermann, found the farmer Herbert Schuch hanged in his barn, the finding quickly became clear to them: It was suicide . It is murder only for Herbert's bereaved, mistress Becky. So she hires the ex-police officer and current private investigator Finn Zehender to confirm her suspicions.

When Zehender begins investigating, he realizes how much neighborly malice there is between the local residents. Not only is the police chief harassing his colleague Anna, who has only been on duty for a week, his brother Thomas is many times more aggressive: He shoots the detective, knocks him down and sets fire to the house where he is researching.

The money for the investigation is tight: The total of 500 euros that Becky paid is only enough for two days, for the following day she pays the detective with sex. With the help of the alleged young prosecutor Agnes Sonntag, who was quickly summoned, Zehender uncovered nepotism and corruption and found numerous suspects until it was discovered that Becky herself was the murderer. She had hired Zehender because, as the beneficiary of the insurance , she would only receive the premium in the event of murder, but not in the event of suicide.

Then he uncovered a real estate scandal and thwarted the backers by winning the coveted house himself.

Reviews

"ZDF could broadcast such nice bad jokes more often in prime time."

"Provincial thrillers are hot [...]. Markus Imboden [...] worked here again with screenwriter Holger Karsten Schmidt. Again he dives into the north German provinces and stages the thriller with many ironic nuances and a well-behaved cast ensemble. "

“It's getting hot in the supposedly cool north. And thanks to the main actor Hinnerk Schönemann, watching is actually fun. [...] It is not the only bad pun that misses the joke. […] Sounds weird. And it's actually weird in this crime comedy that could have gone wrong. If it weren't for the main actor Hinnerk Schönemann. "

“As a private detective, he is supposed to solve an alleged suicide in rural Lower Saxony and gets caught up in an absurd web of dubious cousin and village ignorance that is increasingly becoming grotesque without ever becoming silly. [...] "
