Barbara Nüsse (born February 17, 1943 in Essen ) is a German actress .

Life

Barbara Nüsse graduated from the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich and received her first engagement at the Atelier Theater in Bern. From 1967 to 1971 she was a member of the Bavarian State Theater . Among other things, she played Minna von Barnhelm in 1970 and Klara in Maria Magdalena in 1972 . From 1972 to 1976 she was an actress in Cologne. 1976 to 1978 she worked at the Württemberg State Theater in Stuttgart , 1978 to 1980 at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . In 1980 she moved to the German Schauspielhaus in Hamburg, whose ensemble she belonged to the 1985th

In the 1985/86 season, Barbara Nüsse worked at the Staatliche Schauspielbühnen Berlin. She then went on tour as a freelance actress and attracted attention through her scenic implementation of the Molly Bloom monologue from Ulysses under the title Penelope . Later she was mainly on stage in Basel and Düsseldorf. From 1992 to 1999 she was engaged again at the Schauspielhaus Hamburg. Since then she has made guest appearances at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater , the Hamburger Kammerspiele , the Residenztheater Munich, Volkstheater Vienna, the Schauspiel Köln (leading role in König Lear , 2009) and the Schauspielhaus Zurich . Barbara Nüsse, occasionally seen in films and on television, is also an important radio play and audio book speaker.

For her portrayal in Vita and Virginia at the Hamburger Kammerspiele, Barbara Nüsse received the Rolf Mares Prize in 2006 . In 2009 she was awarded the Corine International Book Prize for her reading of Fred Vargas ' audio book The Forbidden Place . She was awarded the Gertrud-Eysoldt-Ring in 2009 for her acting performance on important German-speaking stages, especially for the portrayal of King Lear at the Schauspiel Köln .

Barbara Nüsse has been a member of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg since the 2010/11 season .
