Moritz Boerner (* 1945 in Wetzlar ) is a German director and author .

Life

Moritz Boerner received his training as an actor in Wiesbaden . At the same time he worked as an assistant director at the Hessian State Theater Wiesbaden under Karl Paryla and Hansgünther Heyme . This was followed by engagements in Dinkelsbühl with Klaus Schlette , Wilhelmshaven and Hamburg under Ivan Nagel , where Boerner worked with Rudolf Noelte and Wolfgang Bauer .

A first play ( The Audience Calming - a parody of Peter Handke's public abuse ) had already been written in Wilhelmshaven (under the pseudonym Malte Bosch) and was re-enacted by other theaters. Erich Emigholz wrote in Theater heute : "For the time being, Boerner proved how relatively easy it is to fill out a one-hour program with a hand-held mesh."

After founding the independent theater group Rost (1974), Boerner made a name for himself with the German-language premiere of the play Gorilla Queen by Ronald Tavel in Gruenspan in Hamburg . This was followed by his own pieces such as BILD am Tuesday and The Imaginary Doctor .

After working as a lecturer at the State University for Music and Theater in Hanover, Boerner turned to film. After a few feature films for NDR television , he went to Poona to the Indian guru Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh and became a sannyasin . He processed his experiences during this time in the book Enlightenment in Poona and in the controversial and repeatedly confiscated cinema films Catch Your Dreams ... and Adventures of My Soul .

Afterwards Boerner worked for some time in the practice of the naturopath Erhard F. Freitag . During this time he wrote the books Die Chance AIDS , Wisdom from the Unconscious and the computer program MagicWorks , which he developed together with the musician Shantiprem . Boerner's activities during this time are considered controversial.

After several articles written by him in Connection magazine about the seminar leader Byron Katie , Boerner was asked in 1988 by Goldmann Verlag to write a book about the method " The Work ".

Several books on the same topic followed, as well as a multimedia application ( Benefit What Is ).

In 2013 Boerner obtained a Master of Arts in “Biographical and Creative Writing” at the Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences in Berlin .

He lives as a seminar leader and author in Munich .
