Moritz Pistor

Moritz Pistor (born September 27, 1835 in Brüssow , † May 16, 1924 in Hanover ) was a German medic.

Life

Moritz Pistor studied medicine at the Universities of Würzburg, Berlin and Greifswald. In Würzburg he became a member of the Corps Nassovia in 1856 . In the same year he joined the Corps Neoborussia Berlin . In 1859 he was promoted to Dr. med. PhD. In 1860 he obtained his license to practice medicine. He then worked for three months in a pharmacy, continued his education in Prague and Vienna and worked as an assistant in the surgical department of the Gdansk City Hospital. In 1861 he settled in Brüssow as a general practitioner. In 1867 he was appointed district physician in Demmin , in 1874 he was appointed to the government and medical council in Oppeln , in 1881 to Frankfurt (Oder) and in 1882 to the Berlin police headquarters. In 1892 he was appointed lecturer in the Prussian Ministry of Spiritual, Educational and Medical Affairs.

From 1896 Pistor was co-editor of the quarterly publication for public health care. He published on public health, disease spread and hygiene.
