Moritz Ritter von Franck (born September 26, 1814 in Vienna , † September 7, 1895 in Graz in Styria) was the son of the landowner Josef Johann Ritter von Franck. He studied philosophy in Vienna and was mayor of Graz from 1861 to 1864 and from 1867 to 1870.

On the occasion of unrest in Italy, von Franck joined the imperial-royal army in 1830, which he left in 1836 as first lieutenant in reserve. He became a farmer in Lower Austria and in 1840 acquired the Finkenegg estate near Wildon in Styria. From 1841 to 1895 he headed the Steiermärkische Sparkasse in Graz as director, later also as deputy director. 1861–64 and 1867–70 he was mayor of Graz. Under his aegis, the following were created: Hilnte pond systems, water pipes, public kitchen, community savings bank, municipal hospital, house numbering, poor relief. The design of the Graz city park , for which he set up the Grazer Beautification Association, was the result of his initiative.

Franck represented the 6th constituency of Styria (Wildon) as a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly from May 18 to September 7, 1848 .

His cousin Gustav von Franck (* 1807 in Vienna; † 1860 in London) was a famous contemporary writer, painter and editor who took part in the Vienna October Uprising in 1848 and therefore had to flee to England.

He is buried in the St. Leonhard Cemetery in Graz .
