Moritz Ritter von Eigner (born November 7, 1822 in Retz , Lower Austria, † March 25, 1900 in Linz ) was a liberal Austrian politician .

biography

Moritz Eigner attended a grammar school in Vienna, where he also studied law. In 1847 he obtained his doctorate in law from the University of Vienna. From 1844 he was a trainee in the city and land law in Linz, in the civil service he made it up to the prosecutor's substitute. From 1854 he was court and court advocate in Linz.

From 1861 he was a liberal member of the Linz municipal council, a member of the state parliament (until 1895) and a member of the state committee . From 1868 to 1883 he was Governor of Upper Austria with short interruptions . From 1892 he was a member of the Herrenhaus , the upper house of the Austrian Imperial Council . He particularly promoted agriculture in Upper Austria and the Francisco-Carolinum Museum .
