Michael von Kast

Michael Freiherr von Kast (born October 15, 1859 in Nedelischt , Bohemia , † July 29, 1932 in Ebelsberg ) was an Austrian landowner and politician.

Michael von Kast studied at the University of Graz and entered the civil service at the Linz Lieutenancy in 1884. He was the administrator and after the death of his father in 1895 owner of the family estates in Sierning and Ebelsberg. In 1895 he was a member of the provincial committee and from 1897 a member of the provincial parliament, in 1897/98 he was governor of Upper Austria . From 1897 to 1899 he was Cisleithania's agriculture minister in the Thun cabinet .
