Karl Grienberger

Karl Grienberger (born July 5, 1824 in Perg , † May 27, 1909 in Eferding ) was an Austrian Catholic priest , politician and author of local history .

Career

Grienberger was born as the son of Perger Marktsynidkus (carer) Josef Grienberger and attended the Piarist high school from 1834 , then the Schotten high school in Vienna and after graduation attended the philosophical course in Kremsmünster . In 1842 he attended the seminary in Linz .

Act as a priest

His first session took place on July 25, 1847. He was a cooperator in Losenstein for four years and in Gampern for one year . From 1848 he worked as a cooperator in Bad Ischl , where he a. a. read the bridal mass of Emperor Franz Josef and his fiancée Princess Elisabeth and blessed the bridal couple. Grienberger was active as a parish provisional in Gosau and in Obertraun he was responsible for the benefit . In 1868 he became pastor in Nussdorf am Attersee and then in 1875 in the parish of Eferding . In 1877 he became dean in the Eferding dean's office . He established the parish of Eferding as a universal heir and thus the restoration of the parish church could be completed.

Act as a politician

In 1878 the industrial district of Eferding sent him to the Upper Austrian state parliament . In 1883 Emperor Franz Josef appointed him Deputy Governor of Upper Austria. In 1884 he also acted briefly as governor .
