Motzgatsried ( westallgäuerisch Motzgatsrierd ) is a hamlet of the municipality Grünenbach in Lindau (Bodensee) and part of the region Westallgäu . The hamlet is located between Laubenberg and Eistobel .
history
Motzgatsried is first mentioned in a document as Mosbucelriet in 1250 . The place was part of the community of Schönau that was created in 1818 and merged with Grünenbach in 1860. In 1926 Motzgatsried was connected to electricity.
The name Motzgatsried can be traced back to Montansried , which means Bergried or cleared mountain .
