Mount Allan is a solitary mountain at a height of 1600 m and the largest mountain range in the Traverse Mountains on the Rymill coast of the Antarctic Palmerland .
The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after Thomas John Allan (1940-1966), radio operator of the British Antarctic Survey between 1965 and 1966 on Stonington Island , who was on a sled excursion with vehicle mechanic John Fraser Noel (1942-1966) died in May 1966 at Tragic Corner on the Fallières coast .
