Mount Andreyev ( Russian Пик Андреевой , Norwegian Andreevfjellet ) is a 2320 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises in the Orvinfjella near the southwest side of the Dallmannberge , where that forms the southwest face of the Brattebotnen mountain basin .
The mountain was probably seen for the first time during the German Antarctic Expedition in 1938/39 . Participants in the Third Norwegian Antarctic Expedition (1956–1960) mapped it using aerial photographs . During the Soviet Antarctic expedition , which lasted from 1960 to 1961 , it was re-mapped and named after the Soviet geographic historian Alexander Ignaschewitsch Andrejew (1887-1959). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Russian name into English in 1970.
