The Mount Askin is a turn 3000 m high mountain with a flattened summit on the eastern edge of the Australian Antarctic Territory . In the main ridge of the Britannia Range of the Transantarctic Mountains, it rises between Mount McClintock and Mount Aldrich .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it after the New Zealand geologist Rosemary A. Askin (* 1941) from the Byrd Polar Research Center at Ohio State University , who lived on the Antarctic Peninsula , the South Shetland Islands , in Victoria Land and in in the vicinity of the mountain described here.
