Mount Cahill is a 1755 m high mountain on the border between Ellsworthland and Palmerland in West Antarctica . As one of the Sky-Hi-Nunatakker, it rises east-northeast of Mount Carrara .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1987 after the American physicist Laurence James Cahill Jr. (1924-2013) from the University of Minnesota , who from 1973 worked for many years as research director for atmospheric physics at the Siple Station and the Amundsen Scott South Pole Station .
