Mount Fučík ( Russian Гора Фучика , Norwegian Fučíktoppen ) is a 2305 m high mountain peak in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises in the center of the mountain Kvævefjellet in the Payer group of Hoelfjella .
The mountain was discovered and mapped using aerial photographs during the German Antarctic Expedition (1938–1939) under the direction of Alfred Ritscher . Soviet scientists carried out a new mapping during a research trip that lasted from 1960 to 1961 and named it after the Czechoslovak journalist and author Julius Fučík (1903-1943). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the Russian name into English in 1970.
