The Mount Lucania is a 5240 m high mountain in the Saint Elias Mountains in the Yukon Territory in Canada . The mountain was named by Luigi Amadeo of Savoy , Duke of Abruzzo, when he first climbed Mount Saint Elias on July 31, 1897, after the ship that brought him to America.
Mount Lucania is located 50 km north of Mount Logan . The mountain forms the highest point of a ridge running in SW-NE direction. 11.6 km northeast is the slightly lower Mount Steele ( 5073 m ). To the north of Mount Lucania, the Chitina Glacier flows in a westerly direction. The southern flank is also drained to the Chitina River via the Dennis Glacier , Walsh Glacier and Logan Glacier .

Bradford Washburn and Robert H. Bates made the first ascent of the summit on July 9, 1937 .
