Mount Macalester is a prominent and 2430 m high mountain in the west Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises in the middle of the Soholt Peaks in the Heritage Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1961 and 1966. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Macalester College , alma mater of geologist Gerald Frank Webers (1932-2008), director the United States Antarctic Research Program expedition to the Ellsworth Mountains (1979–1980).
