Mount McKeown is a 1,880 m high mountain in the West Antarctic Ellsworthland . It rises on the north side of the Embree Glacier at a distance of 5 km northeast of Mount Schmid in the northern part of the Sentinel Range of the Ellsworth Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own surveys and with the help of aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1957 and 1959. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1961 after Lieutenant Donald Francis McKeown (1934–1997) of the United States Air Force , the was involved in the construction of the South Pole Station between 1956 and 1957.
