Mount Minshew is a striking, mostly ice-free and 3895 m high mountain with a small peak in Marie-Byrd Land in West Antarctica . It rises 5.5 km west of Faure Peak at the northwest end of an elevated plateau section of the Wisconsin Range in the Horlick Mountains .
The United States Geological Survey mapped the mountain based on its own measurements and using aerial photographs of the United States Navy between 1960 and 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1966 after Velon Haywood Minshew (1939-2003), a member of the geological team at Ohio State University on a research trip to the Horlick Mountains between 1964 and 1965.
