Mount Schwerdtfeger is a 2950 m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Royal Society Range, it rises 2.8 km south of Mount Kempe from the ridge at the head of the Renegar Glacier .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1994 after the German meteorologist Werner Schwerdtfeger (1909–1985) from the University of Wisconsin – Madison , a driving force in weather research in Antarctica and an expert on wind conditions east of the Antarctic Peninsula .
