Mount Virdin is a 1080 m high mountain near the Lassiter coast in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . In the Werner Mountains it rises 6 km southwest of Mount Hemmingsen .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1961 to 1967. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1968 after Floyd Virdin (* 1936), a construction mechanic at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in Year 1967.
