Mount Wever is a 1700 m high mountain near the Black Coast of the Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises south of the Beaumont Glacier and 21 km southwest of Dietz Bluff as the northern branch of the Du Toit Mountains .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him in 1988 at the suggestion of Peter Dewitt Rowley (* 1943) of the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It is named after the Dutch geologist Hein Ette Wever (* 1959) from the British Antarctic Survey (BAS), who from 1986 to 1987 was part of a team from the USGS and BAS to explore the Black Coast.
