The Mourgon (in the upper reaches: Mourgon le Mort ) is a river in France that runs in the Allier department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region . It rises in the municipality of Isserpent and drains through the Montagne Bourbonnaise landscape in a west to north-west direction. After merging with its sister river Mourgon le Vif , in the municipality of Bost , it changes its name to Mourgon , crosses the local area of Saint-Germain-des-Fossés and, after 24 kilometers, flows into the Allier as a right tributary in the municipality of Marcenat .
