Jewish history

After the First World War, about 300 Jews lived in Mrozy, that is about 60 percent of the population. After the German conquest of Poland, there were immediate attacks by the Germans, in which Poles from the town also took part. In the summer of 1940, the Germans set up a compulsory ghetto that had to take in one thousand Jews from the town and the surrounding area by 1941. In September 1942 the ghetto was dissolved and the inmates deported to the Treblinka extermination camp .
