from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muepu Muamba (* 1946 in Belgian Congo ) is a writer and journalist from the Democratic Republic of the Congo who lives in Germany as a politically persecuted author.

Life

Muepu Muamba studied sociology and journalism in Belgium . In 1968 he had to leave Belgium; he was first arrested in connection with the 68 protests and then expelled. He then worked in Kinshasa as a writer and journalist, but also worked as a publisher and founded a publishing house called Les Presses Africaines . Muamba was politically active and was critical of the Mobutu regime. As a result, he had to leave the Congo in 1979 and subsequently traveled through several African countries until he found asylum in Paris as a political refugee in 1984 . Muamba has not been in the Congo since 1979, but visits other African countries and tries from his exile to help shape positive changes in his home country through his writing activities and his work in the association Dialog International . As chairman of the association, Muamba - together with other Congolese exiles and Germans - supports educational initiatives and self-help groups on site that work for peace, reconciliation and human rights.

Muepu Muamba has lived and worked in Frankfurt am Main since 2000 .
