Murat Alyüz (born August 16, 1920 in Istanbul ; † May 30, 2006 there ) was a Turkish football player . He played his entire career for Fenerbahçe Istanbul and won several national titles with this club.

Career

Alyüz attended the renowned Istanbul Darüşşafaka High School ( Darüşşafaka Lisesi in Turkish ) and started playing football here. After word of his talent got around in the city, he was signed by Fenerbahçe Istanbul in the summer of 1941 .

When Alyüz was committed, there was no international professional league in Turkey, instead there were regional leagues in metropolitan areas such as Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir , of which the İstanbul Ligi (also called İstanbul Futbol Ligi, dt. Istanbul League ) was considered the most prestigious. Since the İstanbul Ligi was just in the season break, Alyüz took part with Fenerbahçe in the Millî Küme , a kind of tournament designed and irregularly held national championship in which the teams of the three cities of Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir participated. In this tournament, Alyüz made his debut in the game on May 17, 1941 against Gençlerbirliği Ankara . By the end of the tournament, he had played eleven out of a possible 18 games.

With his Milli-Küme missions in the summer of 1941, Alyüz fought for a regular place in Fenerbahçe's defense and kept it until the 1947/48 season. During this time he won the Istanbul championship three times and the Milli-Küme championship three times with his club. The Milli Küme championships were won under the follow-up tournaments Maarif Mükafatı and Milli Eğitim Kupası .

From the summer of 1948 Alyüz no longer began to appear as a regular player and came on a few sporadic missions per season. In the 1949/50 season he won the Istanbul championship again with Fenerbahçe.

In the spring of 1952 the İstanbul Futbol Ligi was dissolved and transferred to a professional league system. From now on there are the İstanbul Profesyonel Ligi (German: Istanbul Professional League ) and the second highest division, the İstanbul İkinci Küme (German: Second Istanbul League ). So Fenerbahçe played in this newly designed Istanbul professional league from the spring. Alyüz also played a season for his club in this new league. After missing the championship in this league, the club experienced a troubled time with a lot of mutual blame. Alyüz finally saw the spirit of optimism as the occasion and ended his career in 1952.

National team

Alyüz 'national team career began in 1948 with a commitment for the Turkish national team . As part of a friendly against the Greek national team , he was nominated for the first time for the squad of the Turkish national team and made his international debut in this match, national coach Ignác Molnár , who was also head coach of Alyüz 'club Fenerbahçe Istanbul at the time .

With the Turkish selection, Torkal took part in the 1948 Summer Olympics. In total, he completed four full international matches.
