Murphy Lee

Murphy Lee (actually Torhi Murphy Lee Harper ; born December 18, 1979 in St. Louis , Missouri) is an American hip hop musician.

Career

In 1993 he founded St. Lunatics with Nelly , Ali , Kyjuan and City Spud. In 1996, the joint EP Gimme What You Got was released and the musicians came under Universal Records . When Nelly started his successful solo career, the other band members were also represented in various songs, Murphy Lee for example in Batter Up (2001) and Air Force Ones (2002). He also appeared in songs by Jermaine Dupri , Lil Wayne and the Ying Yang Twins .

2003 was the year of his big breakthrough. Together with Nelly and P. Diddy he had a number one hit in the USA with Shake Ya Tailfeather and the trio received a Grammy the following year for the song, which comes from the soundtrack of the film Bad Boys II . In addition, his first solo album was released under the title Murphy's Law . The album peaked at # 8 in the US Top 200 and achieved gold status . The first single Wat Da Hook Gon Be came in at number 17 on the US Hot 100 and in the top 10 of the rap charts. The song Luv Me Baby was also quite successful.

Murphy Lee founded his own record label with UC-ME Entertainment . He also owns two snack bars in St. Louis called Good For You Cafe .

For 2008 is a continuation of his musical career with the new album You See Me .
