The museum in the star is the city museum of the city of Warburg . It was founded in 1968 and is housed in Haus Stern , a former medieval aristocratic court in Warburg Neustadt. In 1988 the top floor was expanded as an exhibition and lecture room and the entire building was modernized for sole use as a museum and city archive.

The museum is one of Warburg's most important cultural institutions. Around 10 temporary exhibitions on topics from history and art are held here every year, and lectures and concerts take place in the Museum im Stern.
Its permanent exhibition is divided into the departments
- Prehistory and early history with the representation of early traces of settlement in the region, ceramic settlement finds and the 3.8 t heavy stone from Warburg, part of a Neolithic grave near Hohenwepel from the 4th millennium BC. Chr.
- City history with a representation of the city's foundation and development, documentation of excavations on the Hüffert and on the Burgberg, reconstruction drawings of city fortifications, town halls and town houses in the medieval state, a model of the former Hardehausen monastery and documentation on the former Warburg synagogue .

City Archives
The city archive has important medieval holdings. It contains documents for the founding and constitution of the city such as the Groten Breff from 1436 and a Bible by Hans Grüninger from 1485 from the property of the former Dominican monastery in Warburg and others. a.
