At the place where the museum is located in Wegscheid today, there was a workshop building with a forge and a knife grinding shop as early as the 16th century . In 1583 a Florian on the Obern Saag was mentioned as the owner of the property. In 1895, Antonia and Mathäus Hack's workshop was rebuilt. The tools were driven by the water power of the Trattenbach. The mill in Wegscheid , which is located below the workshop, has been preserved to this day. The first branch church in Trattenbach was built from 1950 to 1958 by converting a residential building on the property, called Wegscheidhaus , on the street . The museum was set up in 1998 in the workshop belonging to the Wegscheidhaus. The historic building is one of the listed buildings in Ternberg. ( ObjectID : 68282).
