The Museumshof Rahden is an open-air museum in the town of Rahden in the East Westphalian district of Minden-Lübbecke in North Rhine-Westphalia . The museum includes a fully furnished farm with all the outbuildings. With its buildings and work equipment, it reflects the regional rural way of life of the 19th century . The museum grounds are directly adjacent to the ruins of Rahden Castle .

history

Between 1962 and 1966, the museum courtyard was built in Münster with the help of the Westphalia-Lippe Regional Association. With the exception of the barn, his buildings previously stood on various farms belonging to the former Rahden office. There they were removed, restored and rebuilt at their current location. In 1988 "Lütke Hus" was opened.
