Music Music Music is the fifth solo album by Scottish-American all-round entertainer John Barrowman from 2008. The album was preceded by the single "What About Us?".

background

Like his previous and later albums, this one mainly contains covers of well-known pieces from musicals and pop music from the last four decades. For the first time, however, Barrowman presented a new single on this album with "What About Us?", Composed for him by Gary Barlow OBE and Chris Braide . With the exception of this single (Chris Braide), the album was produced by Simon Franglen ( Celine Dion , Whitney Houston , Barbra Streisand , The Ten Tenors ) and Graham Stack ( Kylie Minogue , Tina Turner , Rod Stewart ) for Sony Music and reached number 35 in the UK charts. Barrowman made it into the Top40 for the second time after Another Side (22nd place; 2007). After comedian and BBC radio host Chris Moyles campaigned intensely for the single "I Made It Through the Rain" in his morning broadcast in August 2009 and jokingly advertised it for days, it unexpectedly landed as Barrowman's first song at number 14 on the British singles chart .

Barrowman, who has been known to a loyal theater audience, especially in London's West End , through countless musical roles ( Phantom of the Opera , Anything Goes, etc.) since the late 1980s , only achieved his reputation in 2006 through his role as Captain Jack Harkness in the British cult series Doctor Who international attention. Due to the extraordinary popularity of his portrayal, the character received its own spin-off, Torchwood, in the following year , starting with four seasons of the television series and continuing in a variety of comics, novels and audio books. Even years after the freezing of the series production by the BBC enjoys Captain Jack and the Torchwood team worldwide at trade fairs such as the Comic-Con great popularity. The role also opened doors for Barrowman to American superhero series like Arrow and Flash , in which he became known to yet another loyal niche audience as the antagonist Malcolm Merlyn / Ra's al Ghul . Only gradually did this fan base and readership become aware of his singing and theater career. Building on the growing international audience, Barrowman began, in addition to a variety of other activities as an actor and author, to give solo concerts worldwide and produced his latest solo album You Raise Me Up independently of the label through pure fan support. Based on Another Side and Music Music Music , which have already benefited from the popularity of Captain Jack, all of the all-round entertainer's other albums made it into the top 20.
