Musquash River is a river in the Muskoka District Municipality of the Canadian province of Ontario .
The name of the river is derived from the Abenaki word for " muskrat ". By 1968, Moon River and Musquash River were officially referred to as the continuation of the Muskoka River .
The 29 km long Musquash River branches off below "Moon Chute" to the left of the Moon River. It passes the two hydroelectric power stations Ragged Rapids and Big Eddy . It then flows into Go Home Lake . Some of the water leaves the lake via the Go Home River , while the remainder flows on via the Go Home Lake Dam as the Musquash River. The river passes the "Three Rock Chute" and then flows into the Musquash Channel in George Bay and Lake Huron .
Hydropower plants
