Mustafa Efe

Mustafa Efe (born May 5, 1965 in Turkey ) is a Turkish journalist , book author and publisher . Among other things, he runs a Christian book publisher and a Christian radio station in Turkey.

Life

As a journalist, Efe worked for numerous Turkish newspapers, including the right-wing conservative Tercüman . In his autobiographical report My Path to Truth , Efe describes how he covertly researched Christian communities in Istanbul on behalf of an Istanbul daily newspaper in the mid-1980s to investigate the suspicion that they support terrorism. Participation in church life led him into the Christian faith in his own words. “My Path to Truth” has been translated into several languages. The blurb of the German edition, published by the evangelical R. Brockhaus Verlag , emphasizes that Efe's book also shows "what path believing Muslims have to cover in order to be able to recognize the Bible as true".

Efe himself soon converted to Christianity and founded “Mujde Yayincilik” ( Good News Distribution ), a Christian book publisher in his home country . This was the first publisher to receive an official license from the Turkish state to print editions of the Bible in Turkey.

Since 1993 Efe has also been running the Christian radio station “Mujde FM”, which has also been cooperating with Deutsche Welle in the news sector since 1996 . In addition to church music, gospels and spirituals, Bible readings are also part of the program of the Mujde FM station, which broadcasts in the major regions of Istanbul , Izmir and Adana .

Mustafa Efe is also the initiator of the St. Paul March, a round trip for Christians that visits places in Turkey that are important for Christianity. Every year Christians from all over the world take part in this event, which is financially supported by the Republic of Turkey.

In 1992, Efe released the film Jesus , filmed in its original location in Israel in 1979, initially in Turkish, and in 1998 in a Kurdish version. This was the first time that a film was officially shown and distributed in Turkey in the Kurdish language.
