NGC 2034 is an emission nebula with an embedded open star cluster in the Large Magellanic Cloud in the constellation Dorado . The star cluster was discovered in South Africa on January 3, 1837 by the astronomer John Herschel . The discovery was later recorded in the New General Catalog .
