Nachshonim ( Hebrew נַחְשׁוֹנִים, that means "pioneers", English Nahshonim ) is a kibbutz in Israel . The place is in the south of the Sharon Plain near the city of Rosh HaAyin . The kibbutz, founded in 1949, is part of the Drom HaScharon regional administration in the central Israeli district . The founders, most of whom came from Egypt, knew about the origin of the place name in the biblical pioneer Nakhon , who was put at the side of Moses when he left Egypt. In 2018 the place had 399 inhabitants.
Harel Levy , a former Israeli tennis player, was born in Nachshonim.
