Naked. The Net Never Forgets is a German drama film based on a true story based on the script by Anne-Marie Keßel and directed by Jan Martin Scharf . The leading roles are played by Felicitas Woll , Martin Gruber and Aleen Jana Kötter . The TV premiere was on April 4, 2017 on Sat.1 . The film deals with the topic of cyber bullying and the effects on the victims.

16-year-old Lara (Aleen Jana Kötter) is blackmailed by an unknown website operator with nude photos that were intended for her boyfriend. The photos quickly make the rounds of the school and Lara is not only exposed to cyber bullying, but also to real bullying and the looks at school. Her mother Charlotte (Felicitas Woll) tries everything in her power to delete these photos, but she quickly realizes that this is almost impossible. Although Charlotte pulls out all the stops and even makes contact with other victims, she is unable to remove the pictures. Her commitment makes her a target for the operator.
The police are not allowed to act without evidence. Therefore, her hands are tied when Charlotte brings up some clues.
The scriptwriter and director modified the story a little and chose a different character for the suicide. Amal, played by Jasmina Al Zihairi, is, like Lara, a victim of cyber-bullying and can no longer withstand the pressure that weighs on her. Family expectations and shame drive them to commit suicide.

The film is based on the story of the Canadian teenager Amanda Michelle Todd. Todd was a 15-year-old girl from near Vancouver who without thinking twice sent a nude photo of herself to a chat acquaintance. He published the photo on Facebook and sent it to the girl's entire school. The bullying attacks took the young person so hard for several years that she tried twice to kill herself. She died on the second try.
