Nadezhda Efimovna Konyaeva

Nadezhda Yefimovna Konjajewa ( Russian Надежда Ефимовна Коняева ., English transcription Nadezhda Konyayeva, married Самойлова - Samoilova - Samoylova * 5. October 1931 in Tschapkino , Kursk Oblast ) is a former Soviet javelin thrower .

In 1954 she set three world records: on February 5, she threw 53.56 m in Leningrad , on May 22, 55.11 m and on August 6, 55.48 m, each in Kiev .

At the European Athletics Championships in 1954 she won bronze with 49.49 m and was almost three and a half meters behind the winner Dana Zátopková from Czechoslovakia. She also got bronze at the Olympic Games in Melbourne in 1956 with 50.28 m, behind her compatriot Inese Jaunzeme (53.86 m) and Chilean Marlene Ahrens (50.38 m).
