Nadia Cassini , née Gianna Lou Müller (born January 2, 1949 in Woodstock , New York ) is an Italian actress and singer .

Life

Nadia Cassini was born Gianna Lou Müller during her parents' US tour in Woodstock, New York. Her German father and her Italian mother were vaudeville artists. Cassini left her family at an early age to pursue a career as an actress. She kept her head above water with odd jobs as a singer, dancer and model. For a short time she was also the lover of the Belgian writer Georges Simenon . In 1968 she married the American journalist Igor Cassini, also known under the pseudonym Cholly Knickerbocker. She followed her husband to Rome , where he ran a fashion house together with his brother, the French fashion designer Oleg Cassini .

From 1970 she made her debut in the horror film Il dio serpente and the comedy Il divorzio (translated The Divorce ). Coincidentally, matching the title of the comedy, she divorced Cassini in 1971 and lived for a while in Greece and London, where she had a child with the Greek actor Yorgo Voyagis . Their daughter Kassandra Voyagis later also became an actress. In 1975 Cassini returned to Italy, where she continued her acting career with shallow erotic comedies such as Flotte Teens and Sex nach Noten , Der Idiotenzwinger and helmet up - pants down . At the same time, she also began a music career and released three albums by 1985 with Encounters Of A Loving Kind , Get Ready and Dreams .

Cassini became known for her clichéd roles and her public appearances where she flaunted her body. In doing so, she repeatedly triggered minor scandals. She was also known as a quick-tempered person. When her contract with the Italian television group Mediaset ended in the late 1980s , she slowly disappeared from the scene. In addition, she suffered third-degree burns after unsuccessful cosmetic surgery on her nose and lost part of her right ear to amputation. She became an alcoholic for a short time, but thanks to the help of her mother and daughter, she was healed after rehabilitation in the USA.
