action

Namkeen tells the story of three unmarried sisters and their old mother. The eldest daughter is Nimki, followed by Mitthu, who is mute. Chinki is the youngest daughter. They all live with their mother Jugni in an old house outside the village. However, their father Dhaniram does not live with them.

The truck driver Gerulal lives as a tenant in her house. After a while he sees the problems and difficulties the three sisters are facing, and only because they are women. He admires her; he is particularly interested in Nimki. At the same time, Mitthu fell in love with Gerulal.

Since his duty as a driver calls, Gerulal has to drive on one day. Before that, he confesses to Nimki his feelings towards her and asks for her hand. Nimki rejects his marriage proposal because she wants to take care of her family.

When Gerulal disappears from her life, Mitthu commits suicide. Her mother dies because of her illnesses. Dhaniram persuades Chinki to come with him, although Nimki is against it. Now Nimki is alone. Only when Gerulal learns of her loneliness does he return and marry her. Then he takes her away with him.
